If you haven't told a presidential candidate or your state representatives to congress, it makes zero impact to be discussing it on this forum.

They probably shouldn't be rewarded for inefficiency. Why doesn't Real Action for Space tell us what real action he is taking. Unless the only real action is to argue on the comments of this days old post that no politician or policy maker will ever read?

Fax someone

Call someone.

Email someone.John Benachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16026489113831666388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7041803606985503625.post-84686655966069427232008-01-25T01:13:00.000-08:002008-01-25T01:13:00.000-08:00> They could do more with less. If they don't want to do better, why not give the money to DoD instead, or the private sector? It's not like they're the only space program in town.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7041803606985503625.post-67135438838433144282008-01-24T17:28:00.000-08:002008-01-24T17:28:00.000-08:00Real Action for Space, we have so much in common. ...Real Action for Space, we have so much in common. Our names, our views...

I am one of those space supporters that believes that space policy is not simply a matter of "how much money will you increase NASA's budget by." There is so much more! This kind of thinking hampers innovative and effective programs.

NASA has spent unbelievable amounts of money unneccisarily on canceled programs, recreating technology, etc. They could do more with less. (But if I had to guess, I think that they would do less with less.)

If people asked candidates to "throw good money after bad," it would seriously damage the already weak credibility to the politicians that government funded space exploration is viable.

Real action, I think you have a great point. But for heavens sake, don't make your point to us, tell Bush! Tell Obama! tell McCain!

If you cant decide if NASA should be reformed or canceled, make up your mind.

If you think it should be reformed, Do something about it! Tell your representative! Real action, what have you done to improve the situation?

If you think that NASA should be killed, well... I think that that is a bit harsh.John Benachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16026489113831666388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7041803606985503625.post-85649359322591941162008-01-24T16:21:00.000-08:002008-01-24T16:21:00.000-08:00"All space supporters" do not agree that space pol..."All space supporters" do not agree that space policy is only a matter of "how much money will you increase NASA's budget by."

The United States could do far more in space for the same amount of money (or even less) if it did things more efficiently, especially by reducing launch costs. Instead, Bush and Griffin have created an expensive "Vision" that will increase launch costs.

You want to soak the taxpayers even more? Asking candidates to throw good money after bad will simply convince the American people that "space" is white collar welfare for NASA employees.

NASA must reform or die; the next President should either reform NASA or kill it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
